Music Making Continues

August 5, 2010
This is the Summer of Construction. A lot of waiting for things to be finished. A lot of delays and scheduling issues.
Although there have been delays getting access to big the studio (still under construction), I'm working in a totally new way..over the internet.. FTPing ProTools and Logic sessions to my guitar masters. It took some convincing for me to let go of my old ways but the results have been great!
David Patterson has worked his guitar magic on "Come to See" and it sounds like a movie soundtrack! When he gets back from touring he'll finish up "Never Far". My friend and guitarist from Holland, Wouter Koster, will be working the next two songs- "Somebody" and "Damn Good Friends".
Slow and steady music making in the dog days of summer.

Last week we started tracking "Come to See", the first single of my new album. The drum programming and synth pads were done by Benny Moo. This week David Patterson is laying down the guitar tracks and then it will be time for background vocals.
Tonight we start the programming for the next song "Never Far".
Songwriter's Beat Show

Last night's Songwriter's Beat show was AMAZING! 4 performers doing 4 different genres of music. Julie Kathryn opened with some beautiful, folk-pop songs; Steve Conte rocked the house with guitar and a wonderful voice; I did my eclectic soul thang with the fabulous David Patterson holding it down on guitar. Val Ghent, the show's host, sang a really moving song which led us all into singing Happy Birthday to Ronny Drayton. Then Ronny blew the roof off the place with his band. We had a packed house with a really enthusiastic audience who sang beautiful harmonies with each performer. Whee...it was magical!
