My apologies to the folks who have been trying to leave me a message on the guest book but I've had to shut it down for a while because I keep getting crazy spam from Russia!

Hopefully whoever is doing this will get slapped with some common sense and stop spamming.

5:30AM - Amsterdam

I thought I was dreaming when my friend, Karin Greep, yelled for me to wake up because Obama had won!

I yelled, "holy shit" and jumped out of bed and ran to the living room where CNN was televising McCain's concession speech.

Then my phone rang- my husband was calling from NYC to say that people were going wild in the streets, cabbies were honking their horns and crowds were forming and yelling Obama!

We made some tea and watched history unfold as Obama became the President Elect of the USA. His acceptance speech brought me (and Oprah) to tears. I have never been so emotionally moved by an election.

At 7:30 AM I went back to bed and had the best sleep in a long, long time.

OMG...Yes We Can!

I am writing from Zutphen, Netherlands and I'm worried about the upcoming election.

I just got an email from the Obama campaign asking for my help - to call voters in Pennsylvania and ask them to VOTE FOR OBAMA and give them voting location information.

Pennsylvania is McCain's last stand and the Republicans are spending massive amounts of money and time there.

And if you're lucky enough to live in this battleground state... the Obama campaign needs volunteers to help on Election Day.

I voted before I left my beloved USA...I'll be up all night watching my fellow Americans cast their votes for President Barack Obama!

Sunday's show with the Den Haag Songwriter's Guild was great. (Thank you Jaap & Kat!) The venue, Lokaal Vredebreuk, is a cool, intimate spot. There were 3 artists on the bill, each very different from the other, and it was a fun night. People came out to hear the artist they knew and stayed to hear the ones they didn't.

I was accompanied by guitarist, Wouter Koster, and our acoustic soul set was hot.

I can't wait for the next show....

I arrived 6am Saturday morning and was picked up by my sister/friend Ariane and we headed to Zutphen.

The drive was magical. The early morning fog floated over the roads. The cows and horses were already on the move as we slowly made our way home along winding roads.

After greeting the family, dispensing Star Wars toys that were hiding in my luggage, grabbing a shower, coffee and a nap...we walked around town and spent the evening catching up.

Today I´m off to Amsterdam to meet up with my guitarist/angel Wouter and prep for tonight´s show with the Den Haag Songwriters Guild at Lokaal Vredebreuk.

I'll be in Europe on Nov 4th so I'm getting my Absentee Ballot together and will be eagerly watching with fellow Democrats who are overseas.

I don't have a lot of patience for all the drama about Obama's "lipstick on a pig" comment.

A friend sent me this quote, which says it all as far as I'm concerned....

"You can put lipstick on a lying, right-wing, warmongering, religious fanatic and call it a Feminist, but it's still just a lying, right-wing, warmongering, religious fanatic!"
